Intentional Living // Why Should you Seek God First

I have been contemplating the idea of living intentionally and being purposeful in various aspects of my life. At times, it can be overwhelming to think of all the ways in which I can improve my life. However, the answer lies in being Kingdom-minded, which entails making seeking the kingdom of God the focal point of our lives and allowing it to guide our intentions. By prioritizing seeking the kingdom of God, we can concentrate on what truly matters and put everything else in its proper place. When we seek the kingdom of God, we see everything through a kingdom perspective, including our eating habits, how we spend our time, our relationships, and every other aspect of our lives. We trust in the Lord and acknowledge Him in all our choices, and in return, He will make our path straight. As we embark on this journey of intentional living, let us embrace each step forward with faith, knowing that God guides our hearts and illuminates our way.

Lessons from my Garden // Patience

We planted a garden this past week! Dakota and I have been talking about doing this for a while, and so this past week, we made it happen! I happen to follow some people on Instagram who either have these beautiful hobby farms on a nice property, or they have moved out to the middle of nowhere to start a homestead. I see all their pictures and I fantasize what my life would look like if only that could be me. I’ve started to see this trend of homesteading. Now listen, I love a good trend! I definitely feel that hype and excitement that goes along with certain trends, and I would love to jump on board with them! Especially when it comes to simple, clean living. For example, last year I jumped in on the sourdough bread trend, making my starter from scratch and then making my weekly loaf of bread. I loved it! But listen. Not everybody needs to go start a homestead. If that is your dream and vision, and you are able to do so, then go for it! But if you are like me, living in the suburban areas, it might not be possible to…

Study with Me // Tips for Reading the Bible

“Where do I start?” I hear this question all the time when people are thinking about reading their Bible.  Statistics show that about 87% of households in America own a Bible. But according to some research, only one in five Americans have actually read through the Bible, and only 11% has read through the entire Bible! Towards the end of 2020, I decided that I was going to make it a priority to spend time with God daily, getting into the word. Somedays I ended up missing that time, but for the most part I have been able to stay consistent. But it was pretty challenging at first to start. It meant that I had to get up earlier so that I could more consistently spend that time with him (otherwise I’d get distracted by my to do’s of the day). Not only that, but I struggled with how to start, and stressing about how I’d be able to fit in a few chapters a day. Maybe you are feeling the same way as you pick up your Bible. You may feel the conviction and desire to read it, but you are left wondering, “where do I start?”.  And that’s ok!…
